As we look a very simple definition for innovation, what is it? Why should we care about Artificial Intelligence? There’s a lot of sizzle and all the different things when you hear the words AI and innovation, but in the end its value is the ability to find solutions to solve a pain point, because it has solved something that needs to be solved. Otherwise, you have useless digital technology, and you have useless AI.

With a foundation in chemical engineering, data science, and biomolecular engineering, I design and implement hybrid machine learning models to address complex challenges in manufacturing and supply chain industries. At Celanese, I lead cross-functional teams, driving improved decision-making and efficiency through novel solutions like hybrid auto-weighting algorithms, regression modeling, and supply chain logistics.

I am passionate about the adaptability of industries in the face of AI advancements and the importance of staying aligned with leading innovators. I believe the future of AI lies in enhancing or partitioning human intelligence, and I see myself as someone who connects the dots to find new use cases. As a co-founder and leader of Data Science Communities of Practice, I am committed to mentoring the next generation of data scientists and exploring the endless applications of AI.

I started Spero Solutions in November 2011 with the intent of creating a Native owned business that would be a beacon of hope for other Native entrepreneurs. Today we’ve done business in 23 U.S. states and are trusted by Federal Agencies and the Fortune 100 to support their IT and Engineering needs. Prior to starting Spero, I was a National Director at Allegis Group (Aerotek), where I spent 9 years helping to build the largest staffing company in North America.

I believe one of my greatest strengths is my intellectual curiosity. I don’t proclaim to be the smartest in the room, but I do want to be one of the best listeners, and problem solvers. My goal each day is to get 1% better from the day before.

Alexis Dennard leads Mass Markets Supply Chain, Supplier Diversity & Sustainability within AT&T’s Wireline Transformation & Supply Chain organization. In this multi-faceted role, Alexis oversees procurement operations in support of mobility and broadband. She also leads AT&T’s Supplier Diversity & Sustainability programs. Her responsibilities include continued guidance and direction of AT&T’s efforts to empower the economic success of diverse suppliers while driving job impact to underserved communities. In addition, Alexis is responsible for supporting AT&T’s Corporate Social Responsibility goals along with magnifying impact by driving sustainability improvements into our supply chain.
