ADVOCATE

One of the key pillars of the Council is to advocate on behalf of minority business inclusion in the economic engine regionally, nationally and globally. We understand the importance of inclusion of all levels of talent to create strong, viable and sustainable communities.

HUB and SBE Certification

We are a strong proponent of the State of Texas Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) program. We provide third-party certification as a part of our certification process to certified minority-owned business who qualify for the program. In addition, for those certified MBEs that qualify, we also provide SBE certification at the same time they certify their minority-owned business.

Awareness and Education

Our advocacy efforts are built upon awareness and education concerning non-partisan policies that impact minority-owned business. We work with the MBE Institute of Public Policy (www.mbeipp.org/) in our education efforts. Every other year when the Texas Legislature is in session, we engage in a Public Policy Day with the MBEIPP, Houston MSDC and Southwest MSDC to meet and engage with Texas legislatures in educating them on public policies important to the growth and inclusion of minorities in the State.
